Outdu-Launch

There are many milestones in one's life and this launch has been memorable to me in more than one way . It all started off when Raj told me that I had to be present at the launch in Mumbai, I was pretty excited about this because first time in my life , my work was gonna go live :-)

The days leading up to the launch were pretty hectic , as we had to spend 16-18 hours per day refining the portal and deploying it in test scenarios , checking out the performance and distribution . Finally the day on which we had to leave to Mumbai arrived. This was the first time that I was going to Mumabi and this was my first flight Journey :-) .

Yes, you read it right , In my 23 years I had never boarded a flight before that day and hence was pretty excited about my first flight journey . We reached the airport much before the departure time but the queue for security check was long , so had to spend around 45 min standing in the queue , finally the moment that I had been waiting for arrived , I boarded my first flight on 20 th Nov 2007 at 7:50 PM :-)

I took my seat , fastened my seat belt and was anxiously waiting for take off and yeah the moment it took off , I could hear my inner self shouting with excitement " I am flying, I am flying .. Yippeeee !! " .

The flight took about an hour and half to reach Mumbai from Bangalore and then we checked into Hotel Atlantica which was right on Juhu beach . We orderd aloo parathas and once we had our stomach full , we started setting up all the servers and testing it out whether everything was working or not .

We dindt sleep the entire night , working hard to help ajay with his content and I am still surprised that I was able to stand through the whole off next day without a wink off sleep. In the morning we took all the equipment and reached JW Marriott (the place where the event was scheduled to take place) but everything there was haphazard , our stall was not setup , no electricity supply was provided , so we had to wait until everything was setup and then powered on our screens and servers.

Had a hectic day giving demos to all the people who came to the stall . We had good food the 2 days we stayed there , but couldnt go out anywhere as we were totally exhausted on 21st and after dinner,went straight to bed . The next day was no different from the previous day but m ade some friends in Mumbai and before we could realise that we were in Mumbai we were all set for returning back to bangalore.

It would have been great if we were allowed to stay back for a few days more so that we could have roamed about Mumbai.. :-(

Overall it was an experience to remember and treasure for the rest of my life
